I stayed with my husband and drove him to and from. I took pictures of the machine so he could see too.

Dawn, you will need someone to drive you there and take you home. It takes a lot out of you. I was at Emory. I had my very own nurse. She was wonderful. So a person doesn't have to sit with you the whole time, but it would be nice to have a buddy for support. They should bring stuff they like to do. Good luck. You should have someone with yoRu, its very boring. Some people have to come back for second day. You lose hair from the chemo given first day of transplant Put not right away

Usually not. Some centers do give high dose Cytoxan to help mobilize stem cells. For certain patients. I had this. So, hair does fall out with high dose Cytoxan. It I knew what I know now, I would have refused it. 😢 I got sepsis afterwards and spent 2 weeks in the hospital.
