I do wish they would figure out why our bone marrow make these cells in the first place🤔
You don’t go until God is ready for you I believe I would change Drs
You go to school to get an MD. An AH seems to come naturally. When I was trying to get diagnosed, 2 local doctors who were great, suspected MM and referred me to a hematologist. In spite of having a PhD, I didn't know what a hematologist was/did, so had a shock when I looked it up. When I saw a local one for a bone marrow biopsy for more conclusive diagnosis, the AH told me that at my "stage of life (79 yo)," most people would not "put themselves through the procedure." I had it with NO sedation and found myself a decent doctor. I now see a local oncologist who is not an MM expert, but who is a decent human being and who works with a Specialist at Emory. Of course, he thinks I need someone to take care of me, but so far hasn't managed to fix me up with someone. If I could afford it, I think I"d just get another dog, since I"m down to 2. (OF course, I also have cats and birds and they are much more supportive than my ex was ;) and better looking too.)
I believe I would be looking for someone else to be my Doctor
Karl, thank you for sharing. It is unacceptable for any medical professionals to make an open statement like this. You are a strong and disciplined individual knowing the answer is always in your heart. Yes, we all have options to choose from and follow our spiritual guide, as you know well as being a pastor. Yes, I can relate to your journey. If you choose, you can take the matter in your hand to compliment your days now. I’m wishing all the best to you.
