I take Colestipol every morning. It works at a dose of 1 gram daily. My prescription was for 2 gms. However, taking Revlimid with meals has given me issues with gastrointestinal problems. I switched to days in order to address insomnia, but am now taking Revlimid just before falling asleep. Revlimid side effects change so I usually look for causation and act accordingly. I much rather want to remain in remission than change treatments. I have been fortunate to rough through .

I often have about 24 to 48 hours of diarrhea following my Velcade every other week. Thankfully it stops and I add lowly start feeling better. I just try to keep hydrated, drinking lots of water and a small bottle of Gatorade daily.

Hi Douglas,
Time marches on and I have made some progress by trying different strategies. My diarrhea subsides through a combination of a high fiber breakfast diet. It can consist of wheaties,, Cheerios, cream of wheat, oatmeal, bananas, Colestipol, and Metamucil. The rest of the day my meals are not so sensitive. My neuropathy has improved through Accupuncture treatments. My insomnia is a work in progress. My oncologist gave me a one month break from Revlimid which did not impact my top three issues of diarrhea, neuropathy and insomnia. My advice is to keep trying strategies recommended by your healthcare team and stick with your maintenance because , in my case , things can improve. Multiple Myeloma is insidious so I never wish to give it the upper hand so I fight and never give up. So many of us in the Multiple Myeloma community suffer side effects so everything is situational. I seem to win battles and later on I have to fight them over again after successes. Stay strong and never give up. 👍
