Losing Weight Recently With MM
My husband was diagnosed with MM 11 months ago. He has no desire to eat. He does have Boost. He has a funny taste in his mouth. What can he do?
No not yet but I plan to reach out to one. From our reading hot dogs are not recommended. On the other hand one every now and then couldn't hurt him. He can eat i icecream usually and likes some soups.
Where are u on your journey?
Wishing u well.

Sipping plain water during a meal can help some pple with taste changes. High calorie foods like avocados, cheeses, creamy dishes. I found some foods just tasted awful but others were ok. Mashed up avocado on a slice of bread was tolerable as were hot dogs. I could not stand chicken for a while but beef stew was ok.
Have you both seen a dietician who works with cancer patients?
Connie,
Ty u very much for your response. My husband does not have a metallic taste but I did mention to him about using plastic utensils. HE is having the higher calorie Boost and the High Protein one. Wishing u well.
I felt the same way and still don’t have normal taste or appetite after 1 1/2 years. I found soup or other things that aren’t dry to be easier to tolerate. Also, try eating with plastic ware. The metal from regular utensils may leave a metallic taste in your mouth. I supplemented with the higher calorie Boost (380 calories). I wish you both well.
