Do You Need To Do SCT If You Are MRD- ?

I am MRD-, my bone marrow is clear. I have 14% bad cells in my peripheral blood. Do I have to make SCT?

If you are MDR- there is no need for a SCT (though most Onc's may say to get it). MRD- is a test of either or peripheral blood or a biopsy. It should be tested by the clonoSEQ method. All other methods are no where as accurate. The clonoSEQ should report as No Cancer Per Million Cells Tested (10 -6). That's a True Negative - Complete Remission.

If you're MRD Negative, I would not expect there to be 14% bad plasma. Can you explain how or why you have 14% bad plasma - how was this determined?

Did you just complete Induction or have you been on Maintenance for a while.

It can take from 40 to 120 days for your Peripheral Blood to be replaced completely. It may be that your 14% bad plasma from your peripheral blood is simply Old Blood, needing to be replaced by new Blood from your healthy Marrow.

Are all of your MM Markers and Infections Markers such as MSpike (must be - Not Present), CRP, B2M, TSH, LDH, Kappa Ratio, Alk Phos all Normal?
If not, what's not.

Valerie, we cannot answer this question for you. I know there is controversy now around stem cell transplant not prolonging survival, but it does prolong how long we are in remission. I have high risk genetics. Induction did not work well for me. Transplant and maintenance therapy have kept me under good control for over 6 years. I don't know what genetic alterations you have. I don't understand why you have myeloma cells in your peripheral blood? Maybe I miss read this. I know from personal experience if your electrophoresis and/ or immunofixation have a positive band you are not MRD negative by ClonoSEQ. Transplant actually does help a lot of people. Maybe a second opinion with another Specialist might help you decide. đź’•

Hi Valeri - Don't pay attention to Karlo's post. Yesterday, he posted at to at least 20 Threads saying, get More Meds and others were Get More Meds, I get a Commission. Don't know why but they are out of character to all of his other posts and come across as a joke or worse.

Here's another Post from yesterday from Karlo.
"Ask for more medication. I’m working for commission. Others are working for Jeffrey Epstein gang."

All of this stuff does evently become too much to discuss and deal with.
