In the most basic sense, your T Cells are extracted. They are sent to specialized labs. There they are are modified enabling them to detect one of the proteins found on MM cells (BCMA). You are generally hospitalized for around 2 weeks where your modified cells are infused back into you. The side effects and response rates vary, but CRS is a common side effect. The research shows overall response rate (ORR) is relatively high.
