BM Biopsy & Transplant
Can anyone share what their Bone Marrow Biopsy results were before or after transplant, if it was done. I am looking for % of the marrow filled with myeloma cells. Did you do any MRD testing before the transplant?
My marrow was over 95% myeloma cells at diagnosis. Yes they did MRD testing. I didn't understand why at first since I was obviously positive. Now I understand it was to get my myeloma's genetic blue print to see how it changes over time. Anyway, my bone marrow was still 20-30% myeloma cells after induction in May 2017. After some setbacks I had a transplant Dec 2017. After transplant, February 2018, my marrow was less than 5% flow cytometry still showed presence of myeloma cells. My first MRD test was 117,448 clonal cells per million. My last MRD test, 11/04/2022 was 74 clonal cells per million. I get another BMB October 30th. I'm hoping it's still coming down. I hope this answers your question🥰💕 God is good 😉
Yes. Thank you!
This seems to be a "clean" marrow, apparently with no myeloma. When was this done? After first or second transplant? Did they tell you if you are in remission and if so, what degree/level of remission?
Please note - I am not an expert, I have just read several papers and most of my knowledge is based on Google and its AI.
Thank you, again.

For sure!
Yes Sam. Thanks for your response. Doc used the term “half” loosely. 1.3-2.5 from previous 3.9 in vertebral bodies is roughly 50%. I see doc tomorrow morning to find out new regimen. Will keep all interested parties updated. Everyone is interested, right. lol
