Lactate dehydrogenase. I get it checked every 6 months. It asseses tissue damage in our bodies. It can be used to see if our chemo is working, but it's not specific for cancer. Mine was elevated when I had a bad appendix. Vigorous exercise can make it go up too. The Cleveland clinic has a great article on LDH. πŸ˜‰

I used to get tests monthly but as long as my numbers stay within range, they let me wait three months.

I have had this test but not regularly. I am thankful for the test as it is a protein (enzyme) if released into blood stream can cause tissue damage to organs and can effect energy.

I have not had this test or missed the term on my blood test when first diagnosed. A test that measures the level of lactate dehydrogenase in your blood. Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH). Also known as the isoenzyme test measured in the blood. It is primarily found in the heart muscle. Other causes also are present in various organs of the body, including lungs, kidney, placenta, pancreas, white blood cells, liver, and the skeletal muscle.
