Afternoon Icks
Does anyone else get the afternoon icks? I get somewhat tired in the afternoon and then I get mentally off. Lose focus and feel a bit down / sad. Not sure how to shake it. Mornings I’m just fine.
Hi Jeff; Not sure what icks means? From Canada and I think you mean Yukee, Not feeling so good!!! Or when you get up from a hangover, you feel yukee slow. Energy has not been a problem for me, but I go to sleep by 8:30 -9:00 for a wake up time of 6:00 a.m. I think sleep is really good for us. Walking 5-6 km per day, and as RR36 Richard mentioned, that after a good walk, I feel much better, than starting gate. I am on clinical trials with other new meds, and with major thanks, the side effects are down to zero. I hope the results of this clinical trials, continues for 30+++ years.

I’ve been trying to discipline myself to lay down for at least an hour or two during the day. I am very blessed and lucky to be able to do that so come one or 1:30 PM I am off the grid. Cell phone goes off. Well I tell Siri to turn on, do not disturb. but I do have my emergency contacts on bypass so that if they need to reach me they can.
I also share my location with my friends and my daughter. At least they can see I’m home. So God willing anyone wants to do a well check on me they can just send the police right on over.
I generally return phone calls once I’m done napping. With rest comes healing.
If you have any way of blocking out time for yourself during the day, I suggest that you do it!

Many times eating supper puts fuel in my tank. I feel better then.
I feel icky most afternoons too; Mornings are tolerable and I try to get things done before the Ickies move in. I take a short nap and my headache formula tablet; like an Excedrin. I get up ( about 30-60min later ), and go start dinner. I seem to feel better starting about 6pm or so? It's just a strange routine, most days. Sometimes I can fight the icks, just gut out the clumsiness, go outside to breathe, take that tablet, and continue......some times.. Ickies, I connect to fatigue; lose some coordination, dexterity, just completely unmotivated. I haven't heard that term since I was a kid lol
Nap time comes at 2PM!
