Dr Brushes My Questions
I'm curious why my doctor gets offended if I complain about back pain and other myloema and chemo effects. He thinks because my levels have been brought down significantly far as light chains I shouldn't be having any complaints well that's how he brushes it off from my view.could be wrong though.
I kept being brushed off too. And it's only me advocating for myself. One day I verbally lost my s***. Doc tried to interrupt and I said, NO you will listen until I'm done and not interrupt! She grudgingly agreed to run tests and we found a whole bunch of issues (like I needed potassium supplements, my liver was being affected, etc.) Ask for an x-ray of your spine. You may have disc issues. You can get a steroid injection to temporarily alleviate the pain there. Or you may need surgery if they're bulging badly. I shake my head. These are all potential issues, yet docs want to focus ONLY on the cancer. Also, if you have options for palliative care thru your hospital - take it! They're who hooked me up with pain management and a counselor to help me work through a bunch of emotional stuff.

Get a new doc and check into palliative care doc. They are so helpful
Don’t feel bad about questions I have been brushed off too. We are only trying to find out what’s going on and how to keep control of our situation.
So stay strong, and keep pushing forward on this journey.
