Antibodies
I’m
Going to get fusion for my low antibodies. Is this common for myeloma patients. I can’t fight off infections.
Hello Becca21
For me it’s not a shot it’s an infusion last about 3-5 hrs it’s called an IVIG to help your immune system.
I also receive another infusion for Bone Strength it’s every 6 months. I go monthly for IVIG then when the time comes for the bone strengthen I get it when I get my IVIG treatment that month.
Jeny From Glendale Heights Illinois..Good morning Becca I’ve been on a monthly IVIG infusion for about 2 yrs now. Infusion is about 3-4 hrs depending how much you can tolerate..they start w/2 Tylenol & Benadryl….every 30 minutes they come back increase the drip & take BP.
I am getting the infusions. I get it once a month. I am sick all the time.
I’ve only had 2 of them and I’m
Doing well. It is worth it.
I'm going to start IVIG soon also😉
Hey Becca, my neighbor just got it last week. They probably give you premeds like Tylenol, benadryl, maybe steriods. There is a chance of a reaction, but it's low. The nurse will run it slow at first. A bunch of people on her get it. It really helps prevent infections. I'm glad they offered it to you. It goes intravenous 💕
