Agent Orange

Curious....Any one else here with Agent Orange being noted as more than the possible cause of their MM? Last year Ed was"deemed" 100% disabled by the Air force. He did not serve in Viet Nam, but in Thailand, where they call it the perimeter. After learning more about this, (and we grew up hearing the dangers of Agent Orange) it is amazing how many U.S. bases were exposed. They sprayed around them, and it was supposed to be a certain distance from areas actually used by military, but in some… read more

Yes, the VA approved Ron for 100% disability coverage due to Agent Orange exposure in Vietnam, '67/'68. He was diagnosed in 2021 with multiple myeloma. It is apparently a given now that documentation of diagnosis and service exposure provides all that is needed for VA to take responsibility.

Wow! My god-father was retired military and died from a service-connected disability caused by Agent Orange...but I am not quite sure of exact diagnosis...I know that it was cancer though.

Thank you for putting this information out here. I will do some digging and ask my godmother some questions.

Blessings,
Carla

I was in Okinawa and know I was exposed. I had "duty" and had to go to a spot in the thick undergrowth where they were building a ball field that was all dead vegetation. The sargeant in charge said it had all been killed with agent orange. I put in a claim and was denied because I had no proof even though my AO evaluation said I had two diseases that were associated with the exposure. Okinawa is just now starting to admit they used AO. Dome claims have been awarded but only in storage areas.. Also, many times on the flight line I would meet missions coming back from Viet Nam. It was common for them to spray around to kill weeds and grass.
