Bone Survey Results
Notation says: "Innumerable lucencies suggestive of myelomatous involvement of calvarium." Looks like myeloma hit skull. Sounds like nothing can be done with this. Thoughts, comments?
Myeloma treatment, bisphosphonates or Xgeva should help. Calcium and D3 should help. Do you know how long they have been there? Do they hurt? Sending hugs 💕
That’s what happened to me as well. It wasn’t until I went to a university teaching hospital that they identified my broken back and my multiple myeloma. I couldn’t even walk by then! Good luck!
My back broke 4 months ago my l 4 I called a ambulance and went to er. They told me nothing was wrong and sent me home. Two weeks later my back broke again. I went to the er again. They said the only thing they saw was that my had been broken two weeks against I saw a Nero surgeon and got a mri and my back has burst. I have been in a body brace for almost four months
Teresa, there is a video on bone disease and imaging on Healthtree University. But I am honestly confused still about how they can differentiate between old and new lesions and ones that are healing. I had two bone surveys and two PET scans in 2017. Just showed a lesion on my 10th rib. I haven't had any other imaging except for a couple of chest CTs for pulmonary nodules. It's always something🙄. But my appendix decided to rupture during the height of the pandemic in 2020. So that CT showed lucencies on my pelvis??? I still don't know what that means. I asked my myeloma specialist, he said that just happens with myeloma. What kind of answer is that?? Anyway. I hope yours are healing and you don't get any new ones🙏
Thanks DonnaAndrew. I have no idea how long they've been there! Nothing hurts. I saw a comment on this site awhile back (which could have been made by you), about bone surveys. I brought it up to my doctor that I had never had one. I've had PET's and MRI's, but I told him I wanted the "Survey." Geeezzzz, the survey found this in the skull. Doctor keeps saying I'm doing "very good" with a 0.2 monoclonal protein level, but every few months, there's more bone damage found. I'm not understanding why the bones are still being eaten away. Guess I'd better find a way to "rephrase" my questions to him. Thanks for responding to my post!
