MMR Immunization And Velcade
Has anyone had any issues getting a MMR immunization while being on Velcade? The clinic where I've been getting my childhood immunizations wouldn't give me one until they checked with my oncologist, and he couldn't be reached while I was there. It flagged giving me the MMR because it can cause interactions while on Velcade. I was eventually okayed to receive it from my specialist/pharmacist in Milwaukee. I am 15 months post SCT. I just saw my MM oncologist yesterday. I'm 13 months post transplant. I received DPT, shingles, pneumonia, & Hepatitis vaccines all at once, 2 in each arm. No MMR for 2 years as it's a live vaccine.
I got all my vaccines a year after my Trasplant but I was not on valcade
No MMR until 2yrs post SCT is our vax schedule
Hey Betty, I haven't had my MMR either. I just checked with my doctor. They told me they always recommend getting it two years after transplant. I'm 5 years past transplant. He wanted me to get another Covid booster, then get the MMR two weeks later. So I think you should probably wait the full two years. Love Donna πππ
