I’m Going To Have A Bone Marrow Biopsy Done Wednesday. Do I Need Someone To Go With Me To Drive Me Back Home.
Will I be in pain so I can’t drive? Also, my Mspike is down to 1.4 and but my kappa/lambda ratio is almost 14. Does anyone else have this going on? What does it mean?
I just had a BMB. I think they gave me a litter extra due to stress. Conscious sedation. I was a bit groggy. They do insist on a driver if you have this sedation as opposed to a local. I’d never agree to a local because I don’t want to even chance the extra pain. I’m such a baby this way but enough other stuff hurts so why possibly add to it if I don’t have to? Many other warriors do the local and have no issues at all.
I’m a retired RN. We required a driver for all biopsies, even when only lidocaine is given. Ideally, the biopsies were performed in Radiology with versed and fentanyl
Or in Same Day when receiving propofol (milk of sleep 😴 ). Recovery was 1 hour post procedure.
Even if you don’t do the sedation, they still advise you not to drive for 24 hours.
You will need a driver the hospital will give you a sheet with instructions and one of them is that you should not drive after procedure. I have driven home but my wife is usually with me. Many times, I have asked her to drive home.
If you receive sedation and/or pain medication you cannot drive yourself home
Because Bone Marrow Biopsy Is Soooo Painful, Why Haven’t Doctors Addressed This Issue?
I Had My SCT 11/17. I Go For My First Follow Up On 1/17. Is It Normal To Not Have Any Bloodwork Or Anything Done Since My Discharge On 12/1?
