Emery Haley, Ph.D.

Dr. Emery Haley is a nonbinary science communicator with a passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). Born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama, they received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where they graduated from the neuroscience and science and technology honors programs. Dr. Haley earned their doctorate in cell and molecular biology from the Van Andel Institute Graduate School in 2022.

Outside the lab, Dr. Haley enjoys hiking, yoga, and attending art festivals, as well as staying home with tea, a good book, and their cats.
