Marjon, please make sure you are seeing a myeloma specialist. I am IgG lambda myeloma. When my ratio is low my myeloma is active. Did you get a bone marrow biopsy? It is very helpful to see how much bone marrow involvement you have.

Yes it is high and will be having blood tests every 3 months to keep and eye out for progression. I have no symptoms or signs of MM, so kidneys are good. I think I've worked out how to correlate 0.01 light chain ratio with being under the 100 threshold so smouldering. The 0.01 ratio is my kappa result divided by the lambda. By dividing my lambda with kappa I get 72.7 which I think makes me under the 100.

I would be worried about that 800 number too. What does the specialist says about that? Are your kidneys in good shape?

Hi Donna, yes I am with a specialist and have had a bone marrow biopsy which was 15%. I've done alot of research and think that my light chains are the most concerning. But I'm trying to understand the ratio as in my results from blood test my ratio is 0.01 and then my haematologist said as my ratio is under 100 makes me SMM?

Oh wait, my lambda is not low it is very high at 800? Kappa in normal range.
