Here is an article I found in the Resources tab on this page.

Hope this helps. My motto has become, “Don’t borrow trouble.” Don’t bog yourself down with unnecessary worry. Just keep track of your lab results (which we all refer to as “our numbers”) and ask your doctor about them. The cancer clinic I go to has a patient portal and I can view my lab results there and send messages to the medical team. I sent my doctor a note asking him to explain the different lab tests and their significance. He did that and it was so comforting to understand what they are looking for every month.

The only symptoms I had were a slight increase in back pain & my light chain & M protein numbers were going up. My doctor changed my meds to Daratumamab & Pomalyst and now my numbers are down.

Totally agree with the above response. I am on my third line of treatment. In my case I maintained an excel spreadsheet graph of my M-Spike and kept aware of increases, most were slow plateaus but the increasing trend lead to knowledge that the treatments were becoming less effective and discussion with my oncologist determined when a change in treatment was necessary.

I see where you’re coming from Gimori. It’s been 3 years. You can last on your current line 3, 4 or maybe 5 years (that’s rare) before relapsing. Yes. Aches pains etc will trigger constant thoughts. But follow the data. See what the blood work results show. Your doctor will advise further testing if warranted.

Just got my results today. Looks good. Even the ones out of whack are just out of range. Doctor said not to worry.

When you see your numbers moving too far ask why. And ask what the plan is when they do.

Be proactive.
