My Wife Will Be Finishing Her Standard Chemotherapy On The Middle Of June. Will There Be A Relapse/refratory MM Later?
Thank you so much Kathryn!
Baltazar, Hello!!
Everyone is different of course and I think that ir's entirely possible that MM will not end our life; maybe a complication of MM or treatment. So we fight and learn as much as we can to stay well for a long long time. Please give your wife an extra hug from me/us; there by you receiving a hug from us! 🙂
Baltazar, welcome to the group (both you and your wife). I was diagnosed in 2019 and have been in remission since 2020. I didn't have SCT since I had a previous cancer and my MM specialist said no. So, I had induction and then on to maintenance. I have done well. Relapse is a fact of MM life and there is nothing to be done to stop it. Just be prepared. Talk with doctors about what can be done. The disease is a journey not a race. Other cancers are treated and cured whereas this is treated and treated and treated again. There is no cure at this point but research is working on it and every year they come out with new drugs that hold us in remission longer. Everyone is different and has different results so keep on doing everything that you and your wife want to do for as long as she can. Best of luck to you both.
You are welcome, Baltazar! That is what we do here - support one another. I love that members pray for one another, but we also need to take an active part in our medical treatments, ask questions, and push back when we don't agree with a plan.
Are you on the remission then Mark?
