About Our MM Medications And Other Prescriptions/meds, Including Supplements?
A MyMyelomaTeam Member asked a question 💭

Should we space out our medications or is it alright to take one right after another, if instructions do not specify how something is to be ingested. For example; I know someone who takes several supplements all at once. His medications, many times the same way. I know thyroid medication has to be taken on an empty stomach, so that means first pill in the morning.....for me. I have to wait at least 30 min. before I eat or take another pill. Some pills say to take with food, some don't. I… read more

Kathryn,
I think you are smart. Taking too many supplements an upset the stomach. I think it’s a good thing not to take too many medications together. You can ask your Pharmacist for clarification.

After reading the answers given I think some of the people would get nothing else done but take pills. I take about half in morning and half At night. Whatever happens. Happens
I hope to have a life besides mm

Kathryn, my daughter who is a pharmacist, went through all the meds and supplements. She helped her Dad with spacing and which were to be on an empty stomach versus with food. Even Metamucil and cholestyramine have to be spaced away from other meds.
I am glad you asked this question 💗

I take my thyroid meds in the middle of the night when I have to get up to go to the bathroom as I have to take it four hours before I take my Pantoprazole which is to be taken an hour before I have breakfast unless it is the days I take Ninlaro. At breakfast I take the medicine to prevent shingles.. AT lunch I take Claritin and B12 and at dinner I take Singular, vitamin D3, COQ10, and Fenofibrate. At night it is Zetia and Tylenol ( if needed). During the day I take Cranberry extract when I have a snack. Before I started having treatment for MM I only had to take four pills.

@A MyMyelomaTeam Member,
I’m taking a lot of supplements too. I added some after reading Dr Brandy’s book “Beat Back Cancer Naturally”. I take my heart med at night too. I’m starting to take Strontium too, since it seemed to work for @A MyMyelomaTeam Member. What do you take phosphorus for?
