How often do you have bone marrow biopsy?. They did one to me back in November and they found that U had also mielofibrosis, as well as myeloma cells, but they have not repeated to know how quickly is spreading cancer.
What is normal in terms of frequency of bone marrow biopsy at the beginning?

To restage or confirm remission, the biopsy is necessary.

People who have been treated for multiple myeloma, including those who have undergone a stem cell transplant (SCT), have an increased risk of developing secondary cancers. These secondary cancers can develop years after the initial treatment and are often a long-term side effect of the cancer treatment itself. Common types of secondary cancers include:

- Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML): A fast-growing cancer that forms from white blood cells.
- Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS): A slower-growing disease that forms in blood cells of the bone marrow and can sometimes progress to AML.

Given your history of SCT in 2015, your hematologist's recommendation for a bone marrow biopsy is likely a precautionary measure to monitor for these potential secondary cancers. It's important to follow their advice and discuss any concerns you have with them.
