Get a palliative care doc. They manage cancer pain and provide emotional support. Every cancer patient needs one. I encourage you to look into it

After 20 years I have had my fill of doctors that don't want to help. We are retired military after serving for 29 years we now don't get much help. They tell us to go off base. One of my docs looked like he had aged 20 years and he confided he wondered if he should have ever become a doctor. One of the stronger opiods he said he couldn't prescribe anymore, the government said only the cancer docs could. My oncologist was incredulous and asked what in the world did HE know about the opiods. He was busy with the cancer. Then this wonderful doc dropped dead, I am sure of stress. We went to another doc when we had to switch and he got good reviews for being nice. I left the office crying. He was mean and told me he would not manage my pain if I was taking any kind of opiods. He said no one that he knew of would have me as a patient. When I asked him what I was supposed to do, he said he wished they had never given me any in the first place. Awful. We went to one of the other pain docs and they were so nice. They said they had a very few people like me old, cancer patients who just needed someone to monitor them. They jump through the government hoops. The fact that I have terminal cancer should be enough to keep the gov bureaucrats off their backs, but it is getting harder and harder. I have my own philosophy about this but there isn't enough time to write it out, not to mention time for you to read it! But you are right--we need to stick together.

Actually, kinda asking the above question regarding medication reductions as a "polling question" to see how many folks are experiencing this unconscionable action by our own government i.e., the DEA is terrorizing doctors and patients by limiting their access to opioids. Check this site out...we cancer patients need to stand up for each other now!
