If you walk to keep up your strength and it is very important to do the ice thing, brushing teeth and rinses. I did all those and had no issues with any mouth sores.
My transplant was not painful in anyway. I'm not sure why they would have told you that. Yes, make sure you keep walking, that way you can keep your strength up. Like Donna says, we are here for you anytime. We've been through it already.
Try to do all they say to do. I tried really hard to do what was said to do. I don't know if that is why I didn't get any sores. As always everyone is different.
I did the whole ice chip thing and didn't get mouth sores . I did get the sores in my throat and they were pretty miserable. Doctors will give you something for the pain but you just have to wait until your white cells start coming up and they go away.
Tony, Ditto on DavidBliss's response. Did the ice chips during the infusion and also the rinses and mouth swabs instead of brushing for about 10 days. Absolutely no problems! Good luck with the SCT
